Parenting With Heart

A 10-week parenting class where YOU get to decide what you want to learn. Topics may include communication, addiction, discipline, sibling rivalry, child safety, and much more! Parents in the group discuss their parenting concerns and the facilitator customizes skill-building activities that help everyone in the group become the parent they want to be. Often, the skills developed in this unique forum prepare parents to handle the many different facets of parenting, not just specific challenges. Visit the events calendar to find out when and where you can attend upcoming sessions. Or contact Karen Sweeney at Markarensweeney@gmail.com or (607) 426-4879.

Parenting Workshops

Click here for a complete description of Family Enrichment Collaborative Parenting Education Offerings.

Check the events calendar for our community's offerings of workshops on a wide variety of parenting topics.

The Fatherhood Initiative

This initiative is designed to highlight the importance of fathers and male role models in the lives of children. Working in partnership with Chemung School Readiness Project, the Family Enrichment Collaborative is training parent educators to lead workshops that address the unique needs of fathers. Parenting with a Father's Heart is one such workshop. Visit the events section to find out when it is being offered near you. Our Fatherhood Summit is another opportunity for the community to come together to think about issues related to fatherhood.

Family Development Program

Family Development home visitors help families set attainable goals for themselves, build on their strengths and connect with community supports that can help them better manage their day-to-day responsibilities. Contact Tawyna Hughes at (607) 776-2125 ext. 149.

Early Care and Learning Committee
FEC's Early Care and Learning Committee has teamed up with Child Care Aware® of Steuben and Schuyler to develop a brochure that helps parents know what to look for when seeking child care programs. Parents should insist on high quality in the programs that care for their children, and this brochure helps them know a high quality program when they see one.
